“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. Paychex is confused, negligent, and no one communicates with each other. They totally botched our payroll, and the 401K department is a joke. Because we terminated the service AFTER 30 days,(July 2022), they went into our bank account after the (401K) service was cancelled, and stole $1,239.00 IN Feb 2023. AVOID PAYCHEX AT ALL COSTS. This company will LIE, AND MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT to ruin your business. We have the cancellation notices, names, and emails as proof. However, THEY STOLE MONEY FROM OUR ACCOUNT ILLEGALLY AND WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION.After reading the other reviews, this company has a history of defrauding small companies. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS HORRIBLE, AND THE SUPERVISORS NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE, NOR RETURN CALLS EITHER. DO ME A FAVOR AND STAY FROM PAYCHEX!”

“What a nightmare! The customer service team is absolutely horrible to work with. I have called four times today asking to be transferred to a supervisor(or someone that could take a complaint), each rep became combative, over talked me. My states department of revenue has not received their quarterly payment (3rd time this has happened) and has now been accessing late fees & a penalty. I’m so upset about this since I pay for these services! Adp has gotten horrible in the last 3 years. This is the last straw I’m taking my businesses elsewhere and I do not recommend anyone do business with this company!!”

“I engaged ADP several years ago for simple payroll services (I am an wholly owned S Corp with quarterly payroll to myself only and no other employees). From the first month of the engagement to date (I terminated my engagement with them almost a year ago) I started receiving (and still receive to date) notices from the IRS and the state government for failure to file the payroll tax returns (part of the ADP service which I paid for) and failure to pay the tax. I have received collection notices, levy notices, warrant notices for the sale of my assets as a result of the failure on behalf of ADP to pay the proper taxes (although they certainly had no trouble debiting those amounts timely from my business account). I have complained all the way up to the CEO, CFO and General Counsel of ADP. I even filed a complaint with the New York State Attorney General. In response I have received numerous emails from ADP stating that they have resolved the matter but I continue to received notices of default. Clearly ADP is trying to settle the penalties with the state and federal government only to my detriment and to the detriment of my financial landscape. I would avoid this company at all costs. Having been in business for myself and as someone who doesn’t normally submit reviews about a company I can safely say that this is the worst customer service experience I have ever had and I find it appalling that a company this large exercises such negligent and frankly fraudulent behavior while causing irreversible damage to a small business owner such as myself. Please avoid ADP if you can. There are dozens of other payroll service providers out there and the company that I am currently using has been perfectly smooth with no issues.”

“NOT WORTH THE TRAUMA. They delayed our first payroll for several days, and after I complained emphasizing that we were going to get in trouble due to the delay, then they simply sent an email with a “final decision” that they will not provide service to us. It’s like they had an internal secret policy to simply dump the customers who dare to complain (many other reviews around seem compatible with the potential existence of such a secret policy –although, of course, I have no elements to state positively that such a policy exists, but I’d be glad to testify in court as to my experience, should a Government investigation is opened on this issue, which seems fraudulent to me).In any case, as many other reviews confirm, they would just dump you in a blink, and your payroll will be delayed when that eventually happens. Not worth the trauma.”

“Set up payroll and worked through the onboarding process without much difficulty. They ACH withdrew the first payroll. I went to pay week 2 and they now require a wire transfer. NOTHING was said about this when we set up initial payroll. When I go to set this up, my local bank requires confirmation of small deposits for a wire transfer.I can’t set this up in a timely fashion and my employees likely won’t get a direct deposit this week. STAY AWAY. Switching to a local payroll company.”
